Required:
Pencil for note taking
Recommended:
Scissors or nippers, small
A tote to keep your crochet supplies together.
Any beginning crochet book or manual that appeals to you.
A 3 ring binder with page sleeves.

Chain, single stitch, color changes, and turns. Reading basic patterns and charts. Crochet 101 is a class for absolute beginners, whether you bought supplies and watched four hours of YouTube tutorials only to not create anything, or just thought about it and have never touched yarn. The class will begin with immediate instruction followed by lecture on tools, fiber, history, technique, and where to find more information all while each student practices. Hand outs with pertinent information will be given to each student. At the end of this class each student should be competent enough to make a basic washcloth, scarf or baby blanket. If you already know any or all of these stitches, sign up for either Crochet 102 or a Private Lesson.

Crochet 102 (12 and up) min 2 students, max 7

Crochet 102 is a class for beginners who are ready to move on to becoming intermediates. This class covers: Double Crochet, Half-Double Crochet, Triple Crochet, and Double-Triple stitches, Fan stitch and basic pattern reading. Students intending on taking this class must already know how to chain, do Single Crochet stitch, turn at the end of a row, and change colors.

Recycled tee shirt crochet rug class...two hours, $30, B.Y.O.S.
Get started on a soft, easy to wash rug for a space in your home. Class is one two-hour session where you will learn how to process the tees into yarn and get started crocheting it into a rug. Requires knowledge of Single Crochet stitch and basic concepts of crochet. This class is suitable for a Beginning Crocheter.
Supplies needed:
one ball of cotton yarn, any 'dishcloth' variety is best
H or I hook
three or four tee shirts to recycle
Things to Know:The class will get you through the beginning, how big your rug will be or how many tees you need is going to vary from student to student. Yes, you can make a room sized rug using this technique. Color of tees and yarn matter. The very center will be dominated by your yarn color, but the tees quickly become the dominant color or colors.

Private Lessons
$15/ hour
This is for students wanting something outside the designated 101 and 102 class criteria or those for whom the 101 and 102 class time doesn't meet their schedule. Private lessons will be offered to children as young as 6. Perhaps you learned fan stitch first and only know that stitch but need to back track and learn Single Crochet and how to read patterns. Maybe you want to make an Amigurumi, or a specific pattern. Maybe you've made a thousand baby blankets and are finally ready to make a sweater to wear. Wherever you are, we will start there and spend an hour working you toward your goal.
