Pony Express Love Letters

This FREE program allows visitors to stop by the Museum at 210 W. Market St. on January31-February 12, during regular hours, to craft a personal love letter on a vintage typewriter or with calligraphy pens. Look to books of poetry designed to foster romantic expression for inspiration or fill in a Valentine’s Mad Lib for a light-hearted touch. All the collected letters will be hand-delivered for free to loved ones — by bicycle messenger, like a modern day Pony Express, if they are in the downtown area* (or by postal service outside of Central San Antonio) on Valentine's Day, Tuesday, February 14. The Briscoe Museum will even mail your valentines for free all across the United States!
The extremely talented San Antonio Calligraphy Guild returns to address envelopes by hand. The Briscoe will also be hosting a special exhibition by SACG members. All works created by the Guild will be on envelopes and have a Pony Express or Western theme. The show will be installed in our Clingman Education Gallery from January 15-February 14.
*Letters located within the downtown delivery area will be hand-delivered by volunteer messengers on bike.
