Pre-Med Career Explorations Workshop

This camp, specifically for high school juniors and seniors, presents students with a unique, hands-on experience with health care professionals in a medical school environment.

This free camp is designed for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in a medical career. Activities include guided tours of local medical facilities such as University Hospital and UTHSCSA Medical School, hands-on labs including learning the art of suturing and arm wrapping, and presentations on topics such as medical school admission, plastic surgery, psychiatry, pediatrics, and more.
The deadline for applications is May 1. Applicants are asked to provide details about their academic qualifications and a 500-word essay about their motivation for a career in medicine. In return, the most qualified students will attend the workshop at no charge.
