Event Highlights

Saturday Morning Discovery is a free, introductory art experience designed for children ages 5-17. Sessions take place on Saturday mornings during the school year and provide family fun and learning by awakening a passion for art in children and their parents. This program provides children a chance to explore many art forms — from ceramics, to stained glass, to painting and printmaking, to weaving, and to basic drawing. Advance registration is required.

During the school year, we offer a small number of classes to older children and teens who are passionate about art-making and desire a high degree of skills development. Typically, Youth Art Studios consist of 4-session classes which are offered on Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 3pm. Each class is limited to just 10 students.

Summer Art Studios at Southwest School of Art include 1-week and 2-week classes for students ages 5-18. Over 100 classes are offered for youth of all skill levels, in a positive, nurturing, and fun environment. Each week brings a new selection of classes and each one is taught by professional artists and artist educators. Morning classes (9am - Noon) are offered for students ages 5 & 6, and for students who are age seven (7) and older, both morning (9am - Noon) and afternoon (1pm - 4pm) classes are available.
