Day and overnight options available! Limited scholarships available!

The Aquatic Science Adventure Camp is one of the longest-running science camps in Texas. Since 1988, the Edwards Aquifer Research and Data Center at Texas State University has ivited thousands of campers from across the country to experience the wonder of discovery and thill of adventure! Campers learn through exploration and hands-on activities related to water and the environment. We believe in the power of experiential learning and self-directed discovery. Whether it's a bug hunt in the creek, getting dirty in a cave, or navigating rapids on the San Marcos River, all of our activities are designed to engage our campers and impart an understanding of the world around them. Campers will experience what scientists do for a living and learn in a university setting using professional-grade equipment. Our motto is "Real Science, Real Fun!" for a reason!

Overnight camps run from Sunday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Campers spend 3 nights in a residence hall on the main Texas State University campus. The last 3 days of camp are spent out at the scenic University Camp, by the beautiful Blanco River. Campers experience a wide variety of exciting and educational activities including river rafting, scuba diving, exploring a wild cave, hunting for native mussels, and plenty of swim time in local rivers. Campers engage with our knowledgeable and qualified staff to learn in large- and small-group settings and participate in scientific investigations related to water and the environment.

We offer a 5-day camp and 2-day mini camp for families that live close to San Marcos and want to give their kids a chance to experience the full adventure camp experience without the overnight stay component. Weeklong day camps run from 8AM to 5PM Monday-Friday and feature all of the daytime science and recreational activities. Lunch is provided every day. Mini-camps are like a 'greatest hits' version of week-long camps and also include lunch.

We invite you to check out our website at www.eardc.txstate.edu/camp.html to see more about the camp and all of the fun and exciting activities we have planned for 2020. Our website also provides information about available scholarships.
