Beginner Bird Walk- Government Canyon State Natural Area

Learn about the fun and excitement of bird watching; including basics on the use of binoculars and Bird Field Guides, as well as some techniques for successful bird watching in the outdoors. BYO binoculars if possible, but not required. Participants must be at least 8 years of age or older and should be able to hike over rugged but beautiful trails; there may be a fair amount of elevation gain depending on the trail chosen. Dress for the weather, and wear sturdy shoes. No pets please. Bring at least a liter of water, and a snack if you like. Group size limited; participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Meet at the rainwater harvesting tower. Reservations required; sorry, no group reservations.
