Black Violin is led by classically trained string players Wil B. (viola) and Kev Marcus (violin). Joining them onstage are DJ SPS and drummer Nat Stokes. Together, Black Violin has dazzled audiences globally with their eclectic mix of classical music, hip-hop, jazz, and pop. Their message, expressed through this unique blend of classical and hip-hop music (described as “classical boom”), is to overcome stereotypes, to encourage people of all ages, races, and economic backgrounds to join together to break down cultural barriers, and to accept the challenge that success requires commitment, practice, and unwavering dedication. Black Violin’s latest studio album, Take the Stairs, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Classical Chart, #1 on the Billboard Classical Crossover Chart, #7 on Billboard’s Top New Artists Chart, and #9 on the Billboard Hip Hop and R&B Chart. The concert notably incorporates themes of perseverance, exploration, and unity featuring songs such as “Rise,” “Unbreakable,” “Believer,” “Dreamer” and “Impossible Is Possible.”
