Heritage Hike - Hill Country State Natural Area

Join a park ranger on a guided hike to discover the past, present, and future of Hill Country State Natural Area!

We will be hiking the 1.1-mile Heritage Loop to explore how humans have used the land of Hill Country over the years. Throughout our journey, we will discover plants with a purpose, non-native animals, and historic buildings! The Heritage Loop is an easy trail. However, it is not paved and contains loose rock, so be sure to bring sturdy hiking shoes.
- 1-mile trail, about a 1 hour hike
- This guided hike is limited to 10 people, so make sure to sign up inside Headquarters 15-30 minutes before the departure time
- We will meet at the Heritage Garden outside of Headquarters
- What to bring: Water, sturdy hiking shoes, hats, sunscreen, camera, and your sense of adventure!
- Fees: Free with park admission. Park entrance fees are $6 per adult (13 years of age and older), free for children under 13.
- Note: The Heritage Hike is subject to cancellation due to weather and trail conditions. Be sure to call headquarters the day of the guided hike to ask if the trails are open!
