Join a park ranger on a scavenger hunt to search for the many colors of the Hill Country! This easy-going hike will lead you through sections of the Bar-O, Merrick Mile, or Bandera Creek trails to give you a new perspective on the plants, animals, and ranching heritage of our natural area.

  • We will meet right outside of Headquarters.
  • Low elevation hike, about 1-mile long
  • What to bring: Water, hiking shoes, hats, sunscreen.
  • Fees: Free with park admission. Park entrance fees are $6 per adult (13 years of age and older), free for children under 13.
  • Note: Nature’s Palette is subject to cancellation due to weather conditions. Be sure to call HQ the day of the scavenger hunt to ask if this program will still take place!
