This concert showcases outstanding musicians featured in Musical Bridges’ upcoming documentary film “The Quilt: A Living History of African American Music”. Performers include vocalist Beverly Houston, mezzo-soprano Veronica Williams, poet/vocalist Andrea Vocab Sanderson, trombonist Ron Wilkins, guitarist/vocalist Marc “Mockingbird” Smith, and pianist Aaron Prado’s jazz trio with drummer Johnathan Alexander and bassist Brandon Rivas. The program will highlight historical spirituals all the way to music of the present day.
