Woodlawn Academy for the Performing Arts’ Summer Theatre Camps offers kids of all skill level the opportunity to explore their creative talents, and develop an educational understanding and passion for the performing arts. Summer Theatre Camps at Woodlawn APA are fun, educational, and exciting! Kids ages 5-17 will learn to sing, dance, and shine on a stage while making friends and memories. Stage Makeup Workshop
June5- June9 (ages 7 - 12)
1 week workshop, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Tuition: $245 -Includes camp shirt and makeup kit to take home!
Professional makeup class taught by Nico Redondo will feature fantasy, animals, old age, and more! A different theme will be taught each day. Students will apply makeup techniques on themselves and other students as time allows.
Happily Ever After Summer Theatre Camp (ages 5-17)
June 12-June 23rd(excluding weekend)
Tuition: $315 -Includes camp shirt!
2 week camp, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday - Friday.
*Performances will be June 23rd at 7 p.m. and June 24th at 3 p.m.
Musical Theatre Fairy Tale style; perform to songs from your favorite fairy tale shows. Be your favorite storybook princess, swash-buckling pirate, or evil villain, live on stage! All classes are for ages 5-17. Students will be put into age appropriate groups as necessary.
Shrek Summer Theatre Camp (ages 5-17)
July 10- July 21(excluding weekend)
Tuition: $315 -Includes camp shirt!
2 week camp, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday - Friday.
*Performances will be July 22 at 3 p.m. and July 23 at 7 p.m.
Explore the whimsical world of this story through song and dance. Students will work with professional directors and actors from the main-stage production SHREK, playing at the Woodlawn Theatre this summer. All classes are for ages 5-17. Students will be put into age appropriate groups as necessary.
Shrek Makeup Camp (ages 13 and up)
July 17-July 21
1 week camp, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Tuition: $245- Includes camp shirt and makeup kit to take home!
Learn how to create the iconic and striking Shrek stage makeup! Students will learn how to design and apply ogre makeup, woodland fairies makeup, and makeup for other various storybook characters. Students will also have the opportunity to apply makeup on the camp performers who will be producing the show on the main-stage!
Broadway Bound Summer Theatre Camp (ages 5-17)
July 24- August 4th (excluding weekend)
Tuition: $315- Includes camp shirt!
2 week camp, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday - Friday.
*Performances will be August 4th at 7p.m. and August 5th at 3p.m.
Broadway’s back and better than ever! Sing and dance to songs from everyone's favorite Broadway shows. Featuring songs from new Broadway hits, as well as the classics! All classes are for ages 5-17. Students will be put into age appropriate groups as necessary.
Tech Theatre Camp
July 31- August 4th (ages 12 and up)
Tuition: $200- Includes camp shirt!
1 week camp, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday - Friday.
*Performances will be August 4th at 7p.m. and August 5th at 3p.m.
Students will learn and explore all the magic that happens behind the scenes at a theatre. They will build props, learn about lights, sound, stage managing, set changes and more! Students will also have the opportunity to tech the show that the camp Broadway Bound performers will be showing on our main-stage.
