3D Modeling with Blender

Unlock the world of 3D creation! In this week-long camp, students master Blender to model, texture, and light their own digital worlds. From basic shapes to custom animations, campers tackle creative challenges that build problem-solving and design skills. The week culminates in a final showcase where students present their unique 3D projects—be it a character, vehicle, or architectural marvel. Perfect for budding artists and tech enthusiasts ready to bring their imagination to life!

Step into the third dimension and transform your creative ideas into reality! This immersive, week-long 3D Design & Animation camp is designed to take students from digital beginners to confident creators using Blender, the industry-standard open-source 3D suite.

What Students Will Learn

The curriculum is designed to be cumulative, ensuring that each day’s new skill reinforces what was learned previously:

  • Interface Mastery: Navigating the 3D viewport and understanding the workspace.

  • Modeling Fundamentals: Using "primitive" shapes to sculpt complex characters, vehicles, or environments.

  • Materials & Textures: Learning how to apply colors, gloss, and patterns to make objects look realistic or stylized.

  • Lighting & Composition: Setting the mood with digital lights and positioning cameras for the perfect "shot."

  • Animation Basics: Bringing static models to life through keyframing and movement.

The Creative Journey

We believe in learning by doing. Each session balances technical instruction with creative challenges that encourage students to think like designers. Whether they are troubleshooting a mesh issue or deciding on the perfect color palette, campers develop critical problem-solving skills and spatial awareness.

Final Project Showcase

The week builds toward a "Grand Reveal." On the final day, students will put all their skills together to design a capstone project entirely from their own imagination. They will then present their rendered creations to their peers, gaining experience in digital presentation and storytelling.

By the end of the camp, students won't just leave with a cool file on a thumb drive—they’ll leave with a foundational understanding of the digital design pipeline and the confidence to keep creating at home.
