Gnome Your Neighbor: A Family Kindness Challenge
- Looking for a fun way to celebrate April Fools’ Day with your kids that’s about kindness instead of tricks? Join families across the country for the Gnome Your Neighbor Challenge, a fun, free community adventure designed to spark connection, creativity, and smiles.
Families start by downloading the On the Roam Everyday Adventures app, where they’ll receive simple daily prompts for the challenge. Then print a free gnome, decorate it, and use it to surprise neighbors, friends, teachers, or community helpers with small acts of kindness, playful pranks, and thoughtful gestures.
Each day offers a new idea such as:
• Leaving a cheerful surprise for a neighbor
• Sharing a random act of kindness
• Hiding a gnome for someone to discover
• Thanking a local helper like a delivery driver or teacher
• Taking a family selfie with your traveling gnome
Kids love the creativity and mystery, while parents love how easy it is to create meaningful moments together.
Participants are encouraged to share their adventures using #GnomeYourNeighbor and #GnomesOnTheRoam to help spread the ripple of kindness even further.
The challenge is part of the My Gnome on the Roam adventure movement, which helps families connect, create, explore, and reflect through simple real-world activities.
