KidsOutAndAbout is officially expanding to
Austin and San Antonio in 2014!
That’s where you come in.
We are looking for fun-loving families interested in winning free tickets or camps for their kids and helping KidsOutAndAbout spread the word for a 6 week launch. KidsOutAndAbout sites are currently in 12 other cities across the country, and everyone agrees that Austin and San Antonio will be the best launch ever!
Each KidsOutAndAbout web site newsletter celebrates the hidden and not-so-hidden treasures of each local community. We’ve been online for 13 years with over a million parents across the country coming to our sites. At this point, we’re pretty good at tooting our own horn. But it’s lots more powerful if our tribe shares how awesome it is.

So what’s in it for you? A few things:
You will receive four things from us
(besides our undying love):
- P.R. for you, or for the family-friendly organization of your choice! For example, if you have a blog for parents or families, or a local business of interest to families, we will promote it for free for a year, up to $1000 worth. Or, you can choose instead to donate the online advertising to a family-friendly local organization or charity (subject to approval).
- Participating in our online community: Your opinion will be heard! You’ll be sharing your knowledge and helping us get to know and connect with the best organizations Austin and San Antonio have for families. The more input we have from the community about resources that we should celebrate, even—or especially—if those places have little to no marketing budgets, the more readers we’ll have in a region. For example, we’ll be asking you immediately to vote on the top 20 places to bring kids in your region, and we’ll be thanking you publicly for your participation in that endeavor.
- An exclusive Facebook group just for KidsOutAndAbout launch team members (and I promise, we will have fun, fun, fun!). Here we can share ideas and brainstorm together.
- Mention of your blog or website here on KidsOutAndAbout (Woot! Free advertising!)…and possibly more exposure for those blogs/websites appropriate to our site.
The Launch Team members will
make four promises:
- First, sign up for the newsletter and encourage friends, families, neighbors, co-workers and even complete strangers to also sign up. In fact, here are the sign-up links already! Feel free to share.

- Second, promote the website somehow (Twitter, Facebook, blog, Linked In, Pinterest, Google +, tell your cat, email, etc.) during the launch.
- Third, come up with three cool/interesting/creative launch ideas. (We won’t use all, but the more ideas, the more we have to work with).
- Fourth, contact at least 10 family-friendly organizations and encourage them to list themselves and their events on our website during the launch. Keep a list of your contacts….I feel a contest coming on!
