Las Posadas at Coker United Methodist Church

An Advent Service in the Hispanic tradition that recalls Mary’s and Joseph’s search for shelter in Bethlehem. Worshipers follow the Holy Family as they visit several innkeepers looking, unsuccessfully, for shelter. They finally find room and are welcomed into a manger. Our evening begins with a service in the Sanctuary and is followed by a fiesta with tamales, fun, music, door prizes, photo booth with Santa, and a piñata for the kids.

Un Servicio de Adviento en la tradición hispana que recuerda la búsqueda de refugio de María y José en Belén. Los fieles siguen a la Sagrada Familia mientras visitan a varios posaderos que buscan, sin éxito, refugio. Finalmente encuentran un lugar y son recibidos en un pesebre. Nuestra velada comienza con un servicio en el Santuario y es seguida por una fiesta con tamales, diversión, música, premios, fotomatón con Santa y una piñata para los niños.
