The Activities: Studio Camp will excite the imagination! We’ll make kites and other flying objects! Artistic expression will lend beauty and elegance to our flying objects. Hosted at Artpace, one of the country’s premiere contemporary art destinations, and taught by a trained scientist turned sculptor, we’ll have activities such as:
-Drawing, painting and designing on kites of all shapes and sizes
-Kite Flying, Glider Making and kite battles. Plus contests for craftsmanship and creativity
-Scientific Experiments, to test the requirements and limitations of flight
The Instructors: Bridge Camp is directed by Cade Bradshaw, an artist and summer camp veteran! Our Bridge Staff are the best and brightest – and include certified teachers, scientists, artists, and parents!
The Idea: Campers at Studio Camp will engage in unique creative opportunities. Every student will leave camp with at least 1 well crafted and fully functional kite, several prototypes, and the confidence to build new projects on their own. More than a ready-made project these are objects students will be proud to display and fly!
