Unreal Designer: 3D Game Development with UE5

Master the engine behind the world’s biggest hits! This camp dives into Unreal Engine 5, the professional-grade tool used for games like Fortnite. Campers will master editor operations, build procedural meshes, and program intelligent AI controllers. From world-building to advanced logic, this intensive lab is a one-stop shop for gamers ready to transition from players to creators using the industry-standard software of the future!

Step into the world of elite game development. This camp is designed for students ready to move beyond hobbyist tools and master Unreal Engine 5 (UE5), the powerhouse engine used by top-tier studios to create the world’s most visually stunning and complex games.

Mastering the Industry Standard

Unreal Engine 5 is more than just a game maker; it is a professional simulation and cinematic suite. Campers will gain hands-on experience with high-level developer workflows:

  • The UE5 Editor: Navigating the professional interface, managing world outliners, and mastering the transformation of 3D space.

  • Procedural Mesh Generation: Moving beyond static objects to learn how meshes can be dynamically generated and manipulated within the game world.

  • Artificial Intelligence: Designing and scripting AI Controllers to create NPCs (Non-Player Characters) that react, hunt, or assist the player using complex logic.

  • Blueprints Visual Scripting: Mastering UE5’s powerful node-based language to create intricate gameplay mechanics without writing lines of code.

The Developer's Pipeline

The camp follows a professional studio structure, taking students through the entire lifecycle of a game feature:

  1. Environment Design: Utilizing "Lumen" and "Nanite" technology to build high-fidelity, realistic worlds.

  2. Character Logic: Programming player movement, camera controls, and interactive abilities.

  3. Enemy Design: Using the AI behavior trees to give the world a sense of life and challenge.

  4. Optimization: Learning how to refine a project so it runs smoothly, a critical skill for any professional developer.

From Player to Creator

We bridge the gap between "playing a game" and "understanding the system." Throughout the week, campers develop computational thinking, spatial mathematics, and logical reasoning. They will learn why certain games "feel" better than others and how to use professional tools to achieve that same level of polish.

The Final Build

The week culminates in a Playable Tech Demo. Every student will present a custom-designed level or mechanic that showcases their mastery of AI, procedural systems, and environmental design. They will leave not just with a game, but with the foundational skills to pursue a career in the multi-billion dollar gaming and cinematic industries.
