The Circle School

PreK 3 - 8th Grade Family Cooperative School: Cultivating the whole child to become 
an impactful citizen of the Earth. The Circle School is a PreK-8th grade institution in San Antonio with small class sizes (14 or fewer students) that emphasizes nature-based learning, with students spending an average of 9 hours outdoors weekly. The school begins each day with community storytelling in a circle, teaching peace, empathy, and social justice through folk wisdom stories from around the world, and is recognized as an Ashoka Changemaker School. Their curriculum focuses on seven fundamental skills including imagination, observation, creative thinking, cooperation, discernment, living ethics, and appreciation of beauty, while using narrative assessments instead of traditional grades to document each child's holistic development.
