Sci-fi movies always fascinate us by showing various modes through which a human can interact with computers. Remember Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark)? He uses hand gestures to move computer elements and talk to J.A.R.V.I.S. to give commands and get responses. Maybe you saw Tom Cruise wearing a glove and interacting with a computer in the movie Minority Report? Imagine if we could interact with machines in the same way? Well now we can!
After making some basic robots like a line follower robot, a computer-controlled robot, students will use voice user interface (VUI) and gesture control interface (GCI) to bring such interactions with robots to real-life. Students will take home an accelerometer-based gesture-controlled robot with an Arduino Uno that they developed and built. (MSRP:$89.98)
