Zoo Lights, Powered by CPS Energy, will transform San Antonio Zoo into a winter wonderland from November 16 to December 31. Get ready to be swept away by the holiday spirit as you explore miles of dazzling lights, festive music, and whimsical displays. Embark on a joyous musical journey aboard the Holiday Express, where the tunes of the season will fill your heart with warmth and cheer.

Kids across the country are invited to make a movie to submit to the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival, a fun, annual national video contest in which kid filmmakers create short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery-winning books in about 90 seconds. Creative twists are encouraged! These kid-made movies are featured at live screenings all over the country attended by hundreds—in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, San Antonio, Rochester, and many other cities! These free events combine screenings of the movies with live Newbery-themed entertainment, co-hosted by festival Founder James Kennedy, author of YA book The Order of Odd-Fish and other books, and a local author who writes kids' or young adult books.

Join us as we kick off this year's winter break with the Fast & Curious event! This month will be jam packed with hands-on STEM challenges, such as the No Hands Cup Stacking Challenge and building a Da Vinci bridge. Guests can catch daily STEM demonstrations, including elephant toothpaste, and even compete against our Science Mill staff in Breath Power Challenge.
